Our Story
Our Story
Luetti 1980 was born from the streets of Sfax, Tunisia.
In the early 1990s, founder Firas Luetti grew up obsessed with hip-hop, streetwear, and the style coming out of the U.S. Most of those clothes weren’t available in regular stores, so he found them in the frippe—Sfax’s thrift shops.
That’s where he found old Starter jackets, Levi’s, baseball jerseys, fitted caps, Jordans, and other pieces that felt connected to the culture he loved. Sometimes he would cut logos and patches from damaged clothes and sew them onto hats and other pieces himself.
The first Luetti 1980 design was drawn in 1998.
Firas moved to the U.S. in 2000, and fashion took a back seat for years. In 2022, Luetti 1980 became a clothing brand built around the same things that shaped him growing up: hip-hop, vintage streetwear, Arab identity, and resistance.
Palestine was part of the brand from the beginning. One of the first designs was the Vintage Palestine Stamp. After October 2023, that message became even more central.
Today, Luetti 1980 makes clothing inspired by culture, identity, and the belief that what you wear can say something.
